A one day tub to shower conversion uses a prefabricated shower system that is measured, made, and installed as a ready-made unit, which can shorten the time your bathroom is out of use. It fits homeowners in Saint Petersburg, FL who want a working shower again quickly and prefer a simpler job to a custom build.
What the Project Involves
After an in-home measurement, the system is made to fit the opening. On installation day, the old tub is removed, the drain and plumbing connections are adjusted as needed, and the new base and wall panels are set and sealed. The valve, trim, and door or curtain are then installed. Clearing the bathroom and the path to it beforehand helps the crew work safely and efficiently.
Prefabricated acrylic and similar systems are generally quicker to install than custom tile, because there is no mortar, grout, or curing time. Timing still varies by project. Hidden damage, plumbing changes, or a layout change can add days, and the system is usually ordered after measurement, so the full process takes longer than the installation day alone.
When This Option Makes Sense
- You need the bathroom back in use quickly.
- The tub and shower area keeps its current footprint.
- You prefer a low-maintenance surface with few grout lines.
- You want a clear, defined scope of work with fewer design decisions.
What Affects the Price
Pricing depends on the system size and style, the base and wall materials, the door or curtain you choose, and whether plumbing must be moved. Add-ons such as seats, shelves, and grab bars can change the total. Exact numbers for a one day tub to shower conversion depend on the project and a quote, so ask what is included before you compare.
